Sidewalks is a series of drawings and 1:1 scale tracings completed between August and November 2018. It stemmed from a personal exploration of the streets of Lima, where I had experienced various forms of violence. Sidewalks in the city became spaces for unauthorized advertisements that, despite their illegal nature, also offered a sense of safety. Over time, the erosion of both the concrete and the advertisements mirrored the degradation of public space. This piece reflected how, as we walk, our bodies merge with the streets, participating in the erosion of time and violence.
